Greetings from Jackie Michael
Dear NAINA Family and Friends,
Wishing you a blessed 2017. May God richly bless you and your loved ones!
It is my honor and privilege to serve as the president of NAINA for the 2017-2018 term. I am grateful for the progress NAINA has made since its inception in 2006 under the leadership of our past presidents. NAINA is a healthy and vibrant organization and I am thankful to all the visionary leaders who have contributed to the success of this association.
The 2017-2018 Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Governing Board members, and I are equally thrilled for this next decade and the ongoing pursuit to be the professional organization of choice for all nurses of Indian origin and heritage in the USA. This progression shall continue with the support of our committed leadership and our members. We make NAINA strong together!
I live by the motto: begin with the end in mind. We are on this journey together and I request you to be a proactive and innovative contributor to NAINA’s growth. The Executive Board and I are committed to creating an effective and efficient environment for personal and professional growth of our membership alongside the organizational growth of NAINA and its local chapters. Individually, increased resources will focus on member engagement and quality professional advancement programs including the Leadership Development, Forum for Advanced Practice Nurses and Excellence in Clinical Practice and the Biennial Education Conference. Locally, an initiative to multiply the presence of NAINA in states with nurses of Indian origin lacking a local chapter shall be a priority. Nationally, NAINA will target new partnerships and communication outlets highlighting our diverse global community.
With Warmest Regards
Jackie L. Michael PhD, RN, APRN, WHNP-BC
President, NAINA 2017-2018
